Coaltar community road in deplorable state

Coaltar (E/R), Oct. 19, GNA - The chiefs and people of Coaltar and surrounding communities in the Eastern Region, have appealed to the government to rehabilitate the 18-kilometre road linking Adoagyiri to Dokrochiwah which is in a deplorable state.

Nana Asare Addo III, Ankobeahene (Sub-chief) of Dokrochiwa who made this known at Coaltar, said other roads linking Dokrochiwah- Yaw Baah- Anfaso- Kraboa- Kraboakese- Otoase- Ayi Bontey- Sumkrom- Kofisah- Djatsui and Akwamu are also in bad shape.

He was addressing a meeting organised by the local Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) for traders on Monday.

He said the nature of the road has created hardship to the inhabitants, especially farmers and traders who are compelled to carry their wares and trek long distances to marketing centres.

Nana Yaw Ntiamoah, Coaltar/Dokrochiwah Station Master appealed to the government to rehabilitate the roads to reverse the huge post-harvest losses in the area.
