Civil Servants advised to remain non-partisan.

Wassa-Akropong (W/R), Oct 31, GNA - a top civil servant has reminded civil servants of their constitutional obligation to remain non-partisan in the discharge of their duties.

Mr David Yaro, the Western Regional Coordinating Director (RCD), said it was only when they refused to identify themselves with political parties that the high reputation and image of the Civil Service would be protected.

Mr. Yaro was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Wassa-Akropong over the weekend after his tour of some districts in the region. "The Civil Service is a noble institution tasked with the onerous duty to support the government of the day in policy formulation and implementation in the interest of the people", he said. Mr Yaro said Civil Servants in the region and the Amenfi East District in particular face a number of problems that included residential and office accommodation that needed to be tackled to enhance productivity. He advised Civil Servants to be innovative and not to relent in their efforts to work hard to support the various district assemblies especially the newly created ones.
