Christians warned against worshiping eclipse of the sun

Ho, March 27, GNA - Reverend Noble James Twulasi, Resident Pastor of Jubilee Christian Centre at Ho, on Monday warned Christians not to worship the eclipse of the sun on Wednesday, March 29.

He said this was because the event was only to show the awesomeness of the Almighty God who is greater than the beauty of the event. Reverend Twulasi, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview said it was important for Christians to know that they were not created to worship any other creature but the Almighty God alone. He stated that the event was going to mark a new beginning for Christianity in the world as it was going to happen on a "new moon" according to the Roman calendar, which in itself signified a new beginning.

Quoting from the Bible, Reverend Twulasi said according to Psalm 104 verse 19, the sun and the moon had been created to mark seasons of goodness and badness.

He said it was with these powers that they controlled the stars of the individuals depending on what one programmed into them. Reverend Twulasi urged Christians to use the opportunity to programme good things into the "greatest heavenly bodies" to their advantage.

"It will profit followers of Christ who will not be carried away by the beauty of the event, but will pray to God to turn any bad omen that may be behind it to good", he added.
