Chinese to complete school ahead of schedule

Tamale, June 7, GNA- China State Hualong Construction Ghana Limited (CSHCGL) is poised to complete the construction of the Tamale Girls Secondary School in three months time, the project started in October last year.

The project comprises of 2-12 unit classroom block, a 202 capacity sitting assembly hall, a dining hall and kitchen and a six unit teachers bungalows. Mr Su Yue Hua, Managing Director of the (CSHCGL) disclosed this, when he led Alhaji Mustapha Ali Idris, Northern Regional Minister on Saturday to inspect the progress of work. Mr Hua said the progress of work had been steady and the company was enjoying good cooperation with the consultants and the workers on site.

He said the construction company would impart the knowledge of their building technology to the workers so that Ghanaian contractors could undertake similar contracts in future. Mr Hua said the only problem facing the Company was the early release of funds and appealed to the government and the GETFund to help in that direction.

Alhaji Idris commended the contractor for the high quality of work and the urgency with which the job was being executed. He said it was the vision of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to continue improving upon the facilities in the school to make it comparable with other famous girl's institutions in the south. He appealed to the GETFund to consider fencing the school and also, building a bungalow for the Headmistress. Alhaji Idris commended the chiefs for their foresight and willingness in releasing the land for the school project. 7 June 08
