Hwidiem (B/A), July 16, GNA- A three-day capacity building workshop for 50 pre-school teachers drawn from public schools in the Asutifi District has ended at Hwidiem.

The workshop aimed at equipping the teachers with the teaching methods in the new teaching manual by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The Asunafo District Director of Education, Mr. Yaw Manu Yeboah, acknowledged the importance of the course for teachers in pre-schools, lauded the government's policy to incorporate early childhood education into the formal mainstream education.

He noted that the policy would require well-trained and motivated teachers to supervise the teaching and learning of pupils. Mr Yeboah commended Action Aid for sponsoring the workshop and expressed the hope that the organization would continue to support education in the district.

Mr. William Kwame Boakye, programme officer of Action Aid, presented 40 copies of the new pre-school manual to the teachers.
