C/R GHATOF executives inducted into office

A ten-member executive of the Central Regional Charter of Ghana Tourism Federation (CHATOF) has been inducted into office at a ceremony held at Winneba.

They are Mr. George Henry Acquah, of Windy Lodge, President, Madam Ekua Swaney, Vice President, Mr. Victor Osei Gyasi, Secretary, Madam Ekua Sam, Deputy Secretary, Mr. Felix Nguah, Organizer, Mr. Maxwell Amo Ghunney, Financial Secretary, Mr. Edward Sackey, Treasure, Mr. Kyerema Pra, Mr. Rabbi K. Halevi and Mr. Ishmael Mensah Ex-officio Members.

Madam Pokuwaa Sowyer, Deputy Central Regional Minister and Nana Anim National President of GHATOF jointly inducted the chapter Executives into office. Madam Sowyer who deputised for the Central Regional Minister said, the tourism industry play important role in the economic advancement of the country in numerous and varied position.

She said GHATOF as the umbrella body of Tourism Trade Association has amongst its objectives, the delivery of service that will promote the growth of the country’s tourism industry as well as to foster an effective public private partnership for tourism development.

The Deputy Minister therefore urged the executives to enforce their leadership role to ensure that their members invest more in upgrading their facilities, employ well trained and well-motivated professionals to manage the units as well as to improve on quality of service delivered to meet international standards.

Nana Anim, disclosed that the Central Regional Chapter of GHATOF is the first to be formed in the country, with the Executives its first of whom much is expected of them because with such partners and caliber can help the Federation to achieve the aims.

He there urged them not to lord their position on the entire members but to work in a concerted manner towards creating sound tourism environment in the country.

Mr. Acquah, President of Central Regional GHATOF, on behalf of the entire executives, said that they will work with zeal and enthusiasm to achieve the objectives of the federation and also towards the well-being of the members in the Region.
