Bosomtwe Rural Bank assists seven communities with building materials

Deduako (Ash), May 25, GNA - The Bosomtwe Rural Bank Limited at Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District has donated 300 bags of cement and eight packets of roofing sheets worth 36.3 million cedis to seven communities in its catchment area.

The communities, which include Oyoko, Beposo, Jachie, Trede and Atonsu, received 50 bags of cement each whilst Jachie and Gyenyase also received four packets of roofing sheets each. Mr J E K Mainu, Human Resource and Administrative Manager of the Bank presented the items to the communities at a ceremony at Deduako on Tuesday.

He said the bank had also presented footballs and sets of jerseys worth five million cedis to Kuntenase Stars, a second division club. Mr Mainu stated that the donations to the communities and others formed part of the bank's social responsibilities towards the communities to improve their living conditions.

Mr Michael Appiagyei, Assemblyman for Deduako, who received the items, thanked the bank for the gesture.

He said the community through their communal labour, had moulded 3,000 cement blocks and expressed the hope that the donation would support the community to construct a block of three classrooms for a Kindergarten in the town. Nana Agyei Panin 11, chief of Deduako commended Mr Simon Osei-Mensah, MP for the area for providing the community with 50 bags of cement to support the development of the town. He urged the bank to introduce Susu scheme in communities in its' catchment's area to enhance capital mobilization. 25 May 06
