Blood Organisers calls for confidentiality of blood donors

Koforidua, Nov. 12, GNA- Blood Donor Organisers in the country have called for strict confidentiality on medical history of all voluntary blood donors in the country including screening and donation results.

This was contained in a resolution adopted by 39 blood donor organisers in the country after a five-day conference at Bawku and released to the press in Koforidua on Tuesday.

The conference called for careful and meticulous selection of blood donors and appealed to the youth to lead good life styles since the future generation of the country depend on them as far as blood transfusion is concern.

It called on blood donor organisers to increase awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation to help provide adequate blood at all times.

The resolution called for more collaboration between the Ghana AIDS Commission and the national Blood Transfusion Service in the field of sponsorship and research.
