Bissa Youth Hail Mahama Over Bombande’s Appointment

A youth group at the Bawku Central in the Upper East Region has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his recent appointment of one of the indigenes in the area into his cabinet.

According to the Bissa Youth, the nomination of a son of their soil to the high position of a Deputy Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister is an indication that the President had confidence in people from the Northern part of the country.

President John Dramani Mahama some days ago nominated Mr. Emmanuel Bombande, a former Executive Director of the West Africa Peace Building Network (WANEP), as a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Reuben Jr, Leader of the group, King Bawre Sufian said the President has brought more hope and confidence to the Bissa Community and the youth.

He added that the President has shown his commitment on tribal balance in his administration for the past years in office.
He indicated that the group believes that Ghana and the entire northern regions will vote and politically back the current administration in the upcoming November polls.

The group in a statement also said “We trust that Mr. Emmanuel Bombande, the former Executive Director of the WANEP played a major role in building peace in Bawku. Apart from that, he played a vital role in the formation of the Bissa Youth development in Bawku. In conclusion it is our wish that you continue to steer affairs in this country devoid of any religion or one tribal sentiment”.
