Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions

Konongo (Ash), Aug. 19, GNA - Mr J. K. Konadu, an Assistant Director of Education in the Asante-Akim North District Education Office, has cautioned teachers who sexually abuse school children to be prepared to take responsibility for their own criminal and disgraceful conduct.

He was said the Ghana Education Service (GES) could never be expected to either cover-up such offending teachers who bring dishonour to the teaching profession.

Mr Konadu was speaking at the second open day of the Holy Virgin Preparatory School at Konongo.

He noted that not much could be achieved by the national campaign against indiscipline if adults in responsible positions chose to be reckless and undisciplined in their behaviour.

Mr Konadu called on parents to co-operate with teachers to ensure good moral and character training as well as the total development of children.

He condemned the situation where some parents either physically attacked or verbally assaulted teachers who punished their children for wrongdoing and said such incidents tended to breakdown discipline in schools.
