Bayport Services renovates Ministries Police Station

Accra, Dec. 20, GNA - Mrs Angela Liebel, Managing Director of Baypor= t Financial Services, on Monday urged institutions and organisations to include assistance to the Ghana Police Service (GPS) within their areas of operations in their social responsibility activities. She said the GPS needed the assistance of all and sundry to enhance their operations. Mrs Liebel made the call at the handing-over of the renovated Ministries Police Station building and a signboard to the Accra Central Divisional Commander of GPS in Accra. The renovation work which began in October this year, is estimated at about GH¢11,000.

Announcing that management had adopted the station, Mrs Liebel said the project was undertaken to improve the working conditions of the police by providing them with a clean and congenial work environment. Mrs Liebel advised the police personnel to make sure the building was maintained as clean as possible to attract other institutions to support them.

Police Superintendent Joseph Oklu Gyamera, Accra Central Divisional Commander, said the police were working hard to ensure sustainable peace in the country and called on organisations to provide the necessary assistance to enhance their performance. He said the building since its completion in 1999 had not been renovated and expressed appreciation to the management of Bayport Services for its generosity.

Superintendent Oklu Gyamera urged other companies and organisations to emulate Bayport's example and assured the public that the police would endeavour to help curb crime and violence. He appealed to the public to volunteer information on the activities o= f criminals to ensure peace and stability in the country.
