BIV Donates To Hope Association

Space FM, Sunyani- Beauty In Virginity,(BIV) an NGO in Sunyani in collaboration with the Apostolic Church of USA, Worcester Assembly, has donated clothing valued at several millions of cedis to the Hope Association in Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The association which was started in 2003 with 5 members now has about 100 members and is made up of people living with HIV.

Mrs. Theodora Asubonteng, the Chief Executive of Beauty In Virginity, said the donation was part of the club’s responsibility to reach out to the needy in the society. She added that people living with HIV must be adequately cared for to enable them live meaningful lives.

Mrs. Asubonteng urged members of the association not to isolate themselves from their families and friends, since that would not attract the needed support and care. She appreciated the role of the health staff of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital, who are coordinating activities of the association.

The Acting President of the Hope Association, Mr. Kofi Baah, thanked the donors for the gesture and asked other organizations to come to their aid.

He said the Association aims at offering care, support, counseling and empowerment to its members and commended Madam Margaret Minaso and Saed Ali, who are coordinating their activities.
