Assembly to sanction people who bury their dead in homes

Gushiegu (N/R), Oct 25, GNA - Mr Alhassan Hussien, the Gushiegu District Chief Executive, has warned people in the district, especially the district capital, Gushiegu, against burying their dead in homes.

He said that such burials were likely to bring about the outbreak

of strange diseases and those who would be caught doing it would

be sanctioned. Mr. Hussien said this when he presented a tricycle, commonly

known as "motor-king", to the community to temporary serve as an

ambulance at a durbar organised by the Gushiegu District

constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during

which some presentations were made to groups within the party to

help them in their political outreach programmes. He appealed to the people to observe basic hygiene and cautioned

them against politicizing the use of the tricycle, saying it was for the common good of all since diseases could attack anyone irrespective

of which party he/she belonged Mr Hussein personally presented grinding mills valued at GHc

12,350.00 to five women groups in the Galawei, Makuugu, Saakogu,

Kpanashie and Nansomwia communities to assist them in their

income generating activities. The constituency executives presented four bicycles and a set of

musical instruments valued over GHc 2,400.00 to the party youth to

help them prepare for the 2012 election.
