Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa registers about 86 percent of population

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Oct. 5, GNA - The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has registered 76,528 out of 86,359 people in the district, representing 85.67 percent of the population.

This followed intensive education by officials of the scheme, the District Chief Executive, Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, said this at the Assembly meeting at Breman Asikuma. She said the scheme had, between January and August, paid 1,170,814.98 Ghana cedis as bills in respect of claims submitted by service providers.

She said 903,941.30 Ghana cedis of the amount were paid to the Our Lady of Grace Hospital in Breman Asikuma. Madam Aboah said the government had also paid 1,224,227.01 Ghana cedis to the Asikuma-Odoben Brakwa scheme covering between January and August to boost its operations. 05 October 09
