Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa SDA Church acquires land for school

Breman Asikuma (C/R) Sept. 15 GNA - The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District branch of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church has acquired a 120-acre land costing 60 million cedis to establish a school at Breman Asikuma to promote education in the area.

Pastor Emmanuel Dickson Poakwa, Pastor-in-charge of the Church disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the sixth Annual Camp meeting of the church at Breman Asikuma. About 700 members of the church attended the Camp meeting. In a sermon on the theme: "United in witness of truth" Pastor Poakwa urged Christians to eschew vices that undermined the teaching of the gospel.

Pastor Poakwa called on Christians to let the truth always be their guide and undertake regular fasting and prayering to strengthen their faith.

He appealed to the congregation to be careful with their sexual habits to avoid contracting the HIV/AIDS pandemic and also register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to enable them receive better health care.

An appeal for fund to complete the district headquarters building yielded seven million cedis.
