Ashaiman SDA church presents car to Pastor

Ashaiman, April 18, GNA - Members of the Ashaiman District branch of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) has donated a Toyota Carina car valued at 80 million cedis to their District Pastor, Stephen Addo, at a special church service held at Ashaiman on Sunday.

The presentation was in recognition of Pastor Ado's dedication to duty since he was posted to the district two-and-half years ago. In a sermon to dedicate the vehicle Pastor Samuel A Koranteng, President, South Ghana Conference (SGC) of the church, appealed to Christians to lead lives worthy of emulation and should always practice what the Gospel taught.

He urged Christians to be prepared to render selfless services in their communities and "it is time Ghanaians should start thinking of what they could do to move the nation forward instead of what the nation could for them."

Mr Eric G. Kwatia, Special Assistant to the Minister of State of Regional Co-operation and NEPAD, commended the church for being the first to establish a private university in the country. He appealed to Christians to rekindle the spirit of voluntarism in other to supplement the efforts of the government in developing their areas.
