Artisans urged to cultivate good customer relationship

Winneba (C/R), June 1, GNA - Mr Mike Hammah, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, has appealed to artisans to cultivate good customer practice to enable more people to patronize their services. He said respectfulness, obedience, cheerfulness and truthfulness as well as embracing environmental cleanliness would promote their businesses. Mr Hammah, the Member of Parliament for Effutu, said this at a graduation ceremony organized by Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association, Winneba Branch, for 23 women who completed three years' training in hairdressing. He said entrepreneurship through innovation contributed to concrete and significant improvements in the quality of life. "We must keep in mind that entrepreneurship does not just help at micro level in terms of creating stable and sustainable employment for people but it also impacts positively on the nation's Gross Domestic Product at the macro level as well as delivers positive changes in the lives of people at the grassroots level." Mr Hammah urged them to maintain the patience they cultivated while learning the vocation and also to put into practice the knowledge and skills they had acquired. The Minister appealed to parents, no matter the problems they go through, to invest in the education of their children. Miss Rosemond Mends, Effutu Municipal Branch President of the Association, said the graduates were taken through general hairdressing practices, business management and basic environmental practices. She said they would be writing the National Vocation Training Institute (NVTI) Certificate examination very soon and urged them to practice what they learnt from their mistresses to enable them pass the examination. Mr Hammah later presented tools that he donated to some of the graduates. The items include standing and hand dries, rollers, hampers and magazines.
