Aduana Aberade Clan calls for end to chieftaincy dispute

Nsawam, Jan. 26, GNA - Nana Kwame Affum 11, Acting Chief of Ankwa Dobro near Nsawam has appealed to traditional authorities to put an end to chieftaincy disputes in the area.

He said the protracted chieftaincy conflicts in Ankwa Dobro were hampering development.

Nana Affum who was addressing a meeting of the Aduana Aberede Clan at Ankwa Dobro in the Akwapim South Municipality in the Eastern Region on Tuesday, said the chiefs and people were wasting huge resources to pursue conflicts at the expense of peace and progress.

He said the amount of money spent on disputes should rather be channelled towards the education of their children to enable them enjoy a brighter future.

Nana Affum asked the traditional authorities to forge unity of purpose by "burying the hatchet" in order to facilitate the construction of schools, clinics, markets, boreholes and other social amenities.

Abusuapanin Nana Kwadwo Boateng, Head of the Clan who chaired the function said 22 years of chieftaincy dispute in the area should be a thing of the past
