Adoagyiri Community outdoors new Queen-mother

Nsawam (E/R), March 14, GNA - Nana Anima Afrah II, the new Queen-mother of Adoagyiri near Nsawam in the Eastern Region at the weekend called on parents and guardians not to engage their children in early trading activities. She said they should rather give them the best education to enable them to become responsible leaders of their community and the nation at large.

Nana Afrah, also the Ankobeahemaah of Akim Kotoku Traditional Area, made the call after she had sworn the oath of Allegiance to Nana Abegya the III, Krontihene of Adoagyiri. She said education was her priority and would construct a Library Complex at Adoagyiri Community with assistance from non governmental organizations which would be equipped with computers and books to promote Information and Communication Technology and improve on the reading habits of school children in the area. Nana Afrah said she would introduce the house to house educational campaign to eliminate illiteracy and urged the youth in the area to spend time to read their books as education was the key to national development.

She called on political parties to stop the verbal abuse on each other, saying this did not encourage growth and development. Nana Afrah therefore advised the youth to avoid smoking, drinking and engaging in other vices that would not help them to develop. Nana Anima Afrah II succeeded her grandmother Nana Anima Afrah I.
