Activities to mark Dormaa Kwafie festival outlined

The Dormaa Traditional Council has outlined activities to mark their annual Kwafie festival and 15th anniversary of Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu 11 second as the paramount chief of the area.

The 10-day programme, commencing on Friday December 12th would be climaxed with a grand durbar by the chiefs and people of the area on Saturday December 20.

Houses in the Municipality are being painted in preparation for the historic event while a giant billboard with the portrait of Osagyefo Agyemang Badu and Nana Akosua Fima Dwabeng 11, Paramount Queen of Dormaa, have been placed at the entry point of Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu would sit in state at the forecourt of the Abampredease palace to receive homage from well-wishers and the general public on December 19.

Other activities include health walk, Miss Dormaa beauty pageant, cooking contest, tree planting and clean-up exercises, non-denominational thanksgiving service on Sunday December 21 before a football match between Aduana Stars Football Club (FC) and Berekum Chelsea FC in the afternoon.
