The Global President of CILT, Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey has paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Michael Luguje to discuss issues related to transport and logistics that are mutually beneficial.

Owusu-Nortey, who is the first African and Ghanaian to occupy the CILT higher office said he was committed to promoting business from Ghana.

He commended the DG of GPHA for his continuous support to the institute.

“My core interest is to promote business primarily from my home country because there is an adage that says that charity begins at home. I have to strengthen my home base, based on that, anytime on the global platform I can use Ghana as a case study which I always do. So I will say that, I always whip my country members and whoever in line because if I don’t streamline and whip Ghana in line and there are issues that go wrong, I will feel a bit guilty when I am using such an example or I go on a global platform and I am being referred to negative things that are happening to Ghana,” he said.

The Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Michael Luguje underscored the importance of logistics in the global supply chain.

“For GPHA, you know our contribution to CILT in terms of membership and anytime there are programs that our assistance is sort, we try to contribute our widows might. It is an organization that is important today and will remain relevant for the rest of time because logistics is everything, we cannot ignore its importance. It is only natural for us to be associated to what is relevant to mankind and the movement of goods,” he said.
