Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in charge of crops, emphasizes the importance of inclusive engagement at the ongoing Agritech exhibition in Accra.

Addressing stakeholders and the public at the exhibition's opening ceremony, Addo stresses the event's significance as a platform to foster collaboration and innovation within the agricultural sector.

He highlights the exhibition's role in showcasing advancements across the agricultural value chain, from production techniques to value-added processes, and urges attendees to leverage the knowledge and opportunities presented.

Addo underscores the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through initiatives like the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) program. He specifically highlights the rollout of PFJ phase II, which aims to build upon the successes of its predecessor by providing farmers with enhanced support and resources.

Addo encourages farmers to register for PFJ phase II, emphasizing the program's potential to improve productivity, enhance market access, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

In addition to promoting government programs, Addo emphasizes the importance of collaboration and partnership within the agricultural industry. He applauds the efforts of organizations like AgriTech West Africa, FoodPack Tech-Ghana, and Food and Beverage Ghana-West Africa for organizing the exhibition and providing a platform for stakeholders to network and exchange ideas. Addo calls upon farmers, agribusinesses, and other industry players to actively engage with each other and explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership that can drive innovation and growth within the sector.

Furthermore, Addo addresses key challenges facing the agricultural sector, such as post-harvest losses and access to markets.

He outlines the government's efforts to address these challenges through initiatives like providing ready markets for farmers and facilitating access to land and agricultural inputs through Aggregators.

He reassured attendees that the ministry is committed to supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices that will contribute to the sector's long-term growth and development.
