Bole-Bamboi Constituency NDC Congratulates President Mahama

By Innocent Samuel Appiah
THE EXECUTIVES and members of the Bole-Bamboi Constituency of the NDC have congratulated the President, John Dramani Mahama on the occasion of his assumption to the highest office of the land as the President. “We are glad to see you as our former Member of Parliament rise through the ranks to become President of the Republic of Ghana.”
A statement signed on behalf of the executives and party members by the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Alfred Amoah, noted that President Mahama’s experience makes him the best replacement for the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, to continue the good works and ideals of the late President as he is very competent to handle the mantle of leadership of the country to the ‘Promised Land.’

The statement, which said President Mahama is a gentleman, honest and worthy of emulation, opined that the Constituency members are of the conviction that President Mahama will undoubtedly carry on with the enviable good performance of the late Professor Atta Mills and go the extra mile to achieve more.
“We are overjoyed to observe that the sterling qualities we saw in you when you first appeared on the political scene to contest the Bole-Bamboi seat in 1996, will be acknowledged by an immeasurable majority of Ghanaians in this year’s election. The good work that has been done will surely secure the NDC victory in December. We are confident that we will pass the test by distinction,” the statement maintained.
According to the statement, President Mahama is better qualified to lead the country in 2013 than any other Presidential contender, stressing that his experience in the political game and his achievements alone place him at a better pedestal than the other hopefuls.

It intimated that unlike the other Presidential contenders, President Mahama who has an enviable track record will be able to champion the achievements and track record of the NDC government throughout the nooks and crannies of the country as the country’s democracy is consolidated.

As the nation goes to the polls in December this year, the statement urged Ghanaians to renew the mandate of the NDC under the leadership of President Mahama to enable him carry on with the developmental projects started by the late President to accomplish his better Ghana agenda. It, therefore, called on Ghanaians to remain united and focused and continue to pray for the government and all politicians to ensure a peaceful election.
“While grieving the painful demise of our dear peace-loving and visionary leader, there could not be any better consolation than to recognize the fact that the vision and expectations he left behind can realistically be executed by a trusted, humble, affable and gentle successor like President Mahama, who is a true son of our cherished Bole-Bamboi Constituency,” the statement maintained.

It added; “With Mr. Mahama’s assumption as President of Ghana, we are very much confident that the much touted legacy left behind by the late President will be carried out devotedly and dutifully by President Mahama in the annals of Ghana. We are solidly behind him and want to reassure him that the NDC members in the Constituency will go all length to ensure that the party is retained in the fourth-coming elections. We have no doubt that President Mahama will be able to steer the affairs of this country and unite the people, so as to continue the unprecedented achievements of the late President.
The statement beseeched the rank and file of the party to beware of complacency, thinking they could depend on sympathy votes due to the passing away of President Atta Mills, adding that, they should rather be pragmatic and proactive in their campaign, by showcasing to the electorates the track records of the socio-economic development achieved by Prof. Mills and express their willingness and commitment to continue from where the late President left off.
“We know your sterling performance as MP for Bole-Bamboi has earned you this feat in your political career. Having known you as a caring and hardworking father, we do not doubt your ability to live up to your new responsibility. It is our fervent expectation and desire that you will work assiduously and live up to expectations so as to win the heart of Ghanaians as you continue the Better Ghana Agenda started by our late President,” the statement emphasized.
While admonishing President Mahama to remain resolute and focus on trying to unite all members of the great NDC party, the members assured him of their unflinching support and that of the good people of the Constituency and urge him to be fair, firm and live up above reproach in discharging his duties dispassionately to better the good people of Ghana.
The members used the opportunity to express their profound gratitude to the President for ensuring that Bamboi was given a Secondary Technical School, meant to absorb the numerous students who may qualify from Junior High Schools each year, since the constituency and for that matter, the whole of the Bole District had only one Senior High School.
They have thereby pleaded with him to equip the school with the necessary infrastructure and logistics, especially, a classroom block and Principal’s bungalow as the school is expected to start operation by the next academic year.
The statement equally appealed to the NDC government to upgrade the Health Centre located at Bamboi to a polyclinic, which has been overstretched by the number of communities within its catchment area and since the distance between the Bole hospital and Bamboi is 72 miles, as well as a patrol vehicle that would commute between Bamboi and Banda Nkwanta, portion of the Bole – Bamboi road, as armed robbers have been terrorizing travelers on that stretch of road.
