NDC appoints Bede Ziedeng and others as executive committee members

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has decided to co-opt Mr. Bede A. Ziedeng, former General Secretary of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) and Mr. Osei Piesie-Anto, former National Organiser of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) unto the NEC of the NDC.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by Mr. George Lawson, Deputy General Secretary (Operations) and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the decision was taken at a meeting held on June 12 and under powers conferred on NEC by Article 50 of the party’s Constitution.

It said other persons had been co-opted unto the various Regional Executive Committees; they are, Mr. Nikoi Addison, Greater Accra Region, Barima Sarfo Kantanka, Eastern Region; Mr. Charles Jojo Adu-Fordjour, Western Region, Mr. Frank Longdon, Central Region and Mr. Samuel Kofi Apedo, Volta Region.

The rest are; Nana Boadi Antoh, Brong Ahafo Region, Mr. Mathias Gollo, Ashanti Region, Alhaji Yushawu, Northern Region, Mr. Kwame Mumuni, Upper West Region and Alhaji Masawudu Patience, Upper East Region.

The statement said, "These appointments take immediate effect and all Regional Executives of the NDC are to take note and co-opt them unto their various regional committees.

"Other appointments to the constituency executive committees in the various regions will be announced later. In the meantime, absolute co-operation is expected in this matter", the statement said.**
