NPP members urged to maintain a solid front

Afrancho (Ash), May 17, GNA - Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Kwabre West, has called for a total team work and unity in the party as it prepares for next year's general elections.

They should all line up solidly behind the party's Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to ensure resounding victory, he said.

Odeneho Appiah said this at a thanksgiving service organized by the constituency at the Gethsemane Methodist Church at Afrancho, near Kumasi.

The service was to give thanks to God for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the party's parliamentary primary in the constituency. Odeneho Appiah said unity was crucial for its electoral success and asked that the NPP loyalists avoided divisive tendencies.

Mr William Owuraku Aidoo, the parliamentary candidate, invited all to join in efforts at increasing the party's share of votes in the upcoming polls.

He said it was important they moved from house-to-house to educate voters on the NPP's philosophy to win them over. He also stressed the need for them to encourage all qualified voters to ensure that their names were in the electoral roll when the voters' register opened.

Very Reverend Dr C.K Coffie, Minister in-charge of the Church, called for peace among all Ghanaians in the lead up to the 2012 polls.
