NPP supporters urged to remain focused

Koforidua, Nov. 19, GNA - Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, National Campaign Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged party supporters to be focused and not to be distracted by campaigns of insults by their political opponents. He advised them to wage a campaign on issues to ensure peaceful, free and transparent poll next month.

Interacting with journalists in Koforidua on Tuesday, Dr Apraku said a recent poll conducted by an international agency showed that the NPP would win convincingly in seven out of the 10 regions. He mentioned the regions as Eastern, Ashanti, Central, Western, Brong-Ahafo, Upper East and Upper West and said peaceful, free and fair election would be to the advantage of the party. Dr Apraku said Ghanaians had appreciated the work of the NPP in areas of health care, education, provision of infrastructure, entrenchment of democracy and the discovery of oil and are bent on renewing its mandate, He said the rural folks were banking their hopes on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the NPP, to continue with the good works of President John Agyekum Kufuor in the provision of social amenities to make life more meaningful to them.

He said they were pleased with his determination to transform the economy and decided to renew the mandate of the NPP.

Dr Apraku said the people in the three northern regions were grateful to Nana Akufo-Addo on his efforts to create the Northern Development Fund to relieve them of their present hard conditions. He said people in the three regions were saying that they had voted for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) all those years and had not seen improvement in their lives and had decided to change their pattern of voting this time round.
