Six women elected to Kwahu South District assembly

Mpraeso (E/R), Oct. 20, GNA - Six women were elected to the Kwahu South District Assembly at the just ended District Assembly elections as against two four years ago.

Ten incumbent assembly members, including George Asiamah, Assembly member for Kwahu Praso, who has been at the assembly since the inception of the district assembly concept in 1982, retained their seat among the 36 elected members of the assembly. The Kwahu South District Electoral Officer, Mr Appiah Agyemang, made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Mpraeso.

He said the District Chief Executive would meet with other opinion leaders in the district to nominate 12 persons as government appointees to make up the 48 members of the assembly.
