Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has directed criticism at the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President, John Dramani Mahama.

He alleges that corruption was rampant during the former president's administration, with numerous scandals occurring under his watch.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, Nana B highlighted that the corruption witnessed during John Mahama's presidency had severe consequences, particularly for market women who suffered losses due to fire outbreaks.

"Stealing during your term knew no bounds as some of your corrupt appointees even stole from market women with impunity," he remarked.

Nana B emphasized that the presidency demands seriousness, and Mahama's track record suggests that allowing him to lead Ghana again would result in further damage.

He cited the recent case of embezzlement involving the former CEO of MASLOC, who was sentenced to jail by the court, as an example of corruption during Mahama's tenure.

"A typical example of crass corruption is the current one that has seen the former CEO of MASLOC being jailed by the court for her involvement in embezzlement activities," he added.

An Accra High Court on April 16, 2024, sentenced in absentia, former CEO of MASLOC under the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Sedina Christine Tamakloe Attionu, to ten years in prison with hard labour.

Former MASLOC Head of Operations, Daniel Axim was also sentenced to five years in prison after they were found guilty on 78 counts relating to causing financial loss to the state, theft, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and contravening public procurement laws.
