Young Democrats In Sissala East Contituency Are Calling For Good Leadership

It is with great concern and patriotism for our dear District that we the youth and Delegates members of the NDC in the District seek to engage the general public and the NDC family on pertinent issues that threaten to wreck our great party and the District if immediate action is not taken to reverse the situation by stimulating a leadership overhaul at the top hierarchy of the party.
As a social democratic party, the NDC is guided by principles of equity and equality, justice and fairness, probity and accountability and security for all citizens. The governance of our nation under the leadership of Hon Halutie has so far bred a recipe for failure in attaining the ideals and aspirations of the party and the District. The recent party manifesto that catapulted the party to victory in the 2008 general elections spelt out a road map to achieving a better society for Ghanaians in all aspects of life. However, recent political developments in our polity when critically analysed leads to the unavoidable conclusion that the NDC would likely suffer defeat in the 2012 elections should Hon Halutie retain the mandate or one of the two strangers to lead the party to the battle. Naturally, every reasonable member of the party should and would throw his or her weight behind the Hon Halutie in seeking the renewal of her mandate to lead the party in the next general elections for a second term. However, her “divide and rule” tactics and other reasons explained below ought to dictate otherwise.
Firstly, she is highly unproductive and incompetent to the highest standard and has introduced majority and minority groups within the party for the first landmark in the history of NDC. She has lost social contact with all the polling station executives who suffered to put her there. On two consecutive grading she had F in parliament. All what she say is God who help her to win meaning we the grassroots supporters have done nothing to her successes. Because of her un-productive nature, the secretary Baah Panza is imposing a stranger into the party to come and contest with her.
The unhealthy bitter relationship that exists between the MP and DCE has a potential damaging effect on the electoral success of the party in the future. This crisis has largely arisen due to the actions and inactions of the MP and DCE in according the grassroots supporters the treatment that both truly deserves. It is also a prove that the MP granting favours and attending to the needs of only few members of the party while the larger party members suffer from neglect and ungratefulness on the part of their leaderships style. It is striking to note that those who committed enormous effort in securing victory for the party are finding it difficult to survive – they cannot find jobs or secure contracts. Their labour is simply in vain – an indicator of leadership failure by the MP. Notwithstanding the harmful effect this situation is bound to bring upon the NDC, the MP and DCE has not acted decisively in forging reconciliation and uniting with themselves and we the grassroots supporters. MP has failed in continuing to protect the unity and harmony which the party was blessed with while in opposition.
In summation, we are calling on the constituency executives to disqualified all the strangers and see to it that there is unity within the party if not we are ready to hand over power to our opponent [NPP] come 2012 general election. Long live NDC.
