The 2016 Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party, (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has urged Americans to ditch controversial Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump and vote Democrats' Hilary Clinton as their next leader.

Dr. Nduom, who recently acquired a bank in the United States of America, said electing the eccentric billionaire will be a disaster for the US and the world.

“It would be such a disaster to have that man to be the President of the United States, it will just be wrong,” Dr Nduom told Bola Ray, host of Starr Chat on Wednesday on Starr 103.5FM.

Dr. Nduom, who is confident of wrestling power from the Mahama-led administration in the upcoming December elections in Ghana, stated Mrs. Clinton will “absolutely” be the next president of the US.

Americans are expected to elect a new leader in their upcoming November 7 elections as Mrs. Clinton battles billionaire businessman Trump for the ticket to the White House.

The New York billionaire who is known for erratic and divisive statements has in the last week been sharply criticised by members of his own party for his attacks on the bereaved parents of a US Muslim soldier killed in Iraq.

His ongoing war of words with Khizr and Ghazala Khan - the parents of Capt Humayun Khan - has intensified rifts within the Republican Party.

Three prominent Republicans - including New York Congressman Richard Hanna - have said this week that they would vote for Mrs Clinton, saying Mr Trump was unfit to serve as president.

Many Republicans opposed to Mr Trump have stopped short of supporting Mrs Clinton, saying they would vote for a third candidate instead.

Mr. Trump has also previously stated that he will ban all Muslims entering the US when he becomes the President, a statement he has been heavily been condemned for.
