Political Election Regions 017 Sunyani

The police in the Brong-Ahafo Region are investigating a case of alleged thumb printing of ballot papers in the house of Amokomo Nimpong, former regional treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Sunyani on Saturday. The regional crime officer, Superintendent Charles Domanbay, when contacted by the GNA confirmed the story and explained that the police had received information that "there has been some thumb printing going on in the house".

He said police detailed to proceed to the suspect's house discovered 64 sample ballot papers that did not have the picture of the NPP Presidential candidate Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, nine photo copies of ballot papers and 24 cut-out thumbprints. The regional crime officer said the former treasurer told the police the materials were for educational purposes. Superintendent Bonambay said Nimpong had been released but the police were investigating.
