Parliamentary candidate says NPP should be returned to power

Essikadu (W/R), Nov. 12, GNA - New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Essikadu-Ketan Constituency has said the country would lose the chance of achieving accelerated economic growth if the electorate failed to give the Party the mandate for another term. Mr Joe Ghartey, the Candidate, said the Government had evolved a more pragmatic programme for rapid growth in all sectors of the economy. He told the GNA in an interview on Thursday that the programme "that would put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians is spelt out in the Party's manifesto - "Positive Change Chapter II".

Mr Ghartey said Ghanaians would live to regret for a long time if they made the mistake to give their mandate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that compounded the problems of the people when it was given the opportunity to rule the country.

He said the people should not allow themselves to be deceived by the NDC and its leadership because they had nothing to offer the country. He appealed to the people to vote for him and the NPP in Election 2004 and promised to work hard to bring development to the area if he won. Mr Ghartey advised NPP supporters and sympathisers to comport themselves and not to flout the laws of the country.
