PNC: we will win Talensi by-election

Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of PNCBernard Mornah, General Secretary of PNC

Mr Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of Peoples National Convention (PNC) says the party is poised to ensure victory in the Talensi Constituency by-election.

Dr Michael Namalteng Wombeogo, a third time Parliamentary Candidate, was chosen unopposed to stand on the party’s ticket for the parliamentary election.

Mr Mornah said this when he called on the candidate in Namolgo, his hometown, in the Talensi District, accompanied by Mr Henry Fatchu, Upper East Regional Secretary and some party members.

Mr Mornah urged the candidate to work hard and earn the respect of the people, adding: “You are the obvious choice and we are here to support you and not to do the extraordinary.”

Mr Henry Fatchu asked the candidate to ensure that he has the people in mind since other parties had failed them, especially the poor.

He observed that those political parties came only to do things for the rich to be richer and not for the poor.

Dr Wombeogo said he would be the last person to turn his back on the party and called on members to support him and work hard to get one more seat in Parliament.

He said he would use his skills and experience to change the party.

Dr Wombeogo began his campaign trail rallies at Namolgo and Sawalga, to canvass votes from the people.

He thanked the people for the confidence they reposed in him in the last two elections and said though he failed to make it, their massive turn out this time indicated sure victory for the party and called on the people to come out in their numbers on the voting day to endorse him.

He said other parties who were given the mandate failed to develop the district but he would improve the road network, education, food security and health and women empowerment.
