Nsuta-Kwamang constituency endorses Osei-Prempeh

Atonsu (Ash), July 27, GNA - Mr Kwame Osei-Prempeh, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo, was on Monday re-elected as the Party's Parliamentary Candidate for Election 2004.

Mr Osei-Prempeh, 47, Legal Practitioner, polled 78 votes out of the 99 votes cast to emerge winner at the constituency primaries. Mr Kwabena Afoakwa Manu, 44, a Trade Unionist based in New York, received 14 votes while Mr Alfred Kwasi Opoku, 53, Project Management Consultant, had seven votes.

Mr Osei-Prempeh said his victory was a manifestation of true internal democracy within the NPP and expressed his appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.

He called for teamwork and unity to ensure that the Party retained the seat with massive votes.

In brief remarks Mr Manu and Mr Opoku accepted defeat and pledged their support for Mr Osei-Prempeh.

Mr F.F. Anto, Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, appealed to the people to rally behind the candidate. 27 July, 04
