NPP delegates told to comport themselves

Kumasi, Feb. 23, GNA - Mr Fredrick Fredua Antoh, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to members of the party to comport themselves during the upcoming National Delegates' Congress scheduled for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

He urged particularly, the delegates to abide by security and other arrangements put in place by the party, for sanity to prevail. The NPP goes to congress to elect a new National Officers on Saturday, February 27.

A total of 4,500 delegates are expected to gather at the VIP Wing of the Stadium to decide on new leaders to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Mr Antoh told Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Tuesday that adequate preparations had been made for a successful and memorable congress. He said admission to the Stadium was strictly by invitation. The Regional Chairman said all contestants would be allotted two minutes to address the delegates on their vision before voting starts. Former President John Agyekum Kufour and other top ranking members would also address the conference.

He said the leadership is working closely with the Regional Police Command to provide security before, during and after the elections. 23 Feb. 10
