NDC youth call for information flow

Anloga, Oct 22, GNA - Mr Senanu Bekli, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anlo Constituency Youth Organizer, has appealed to the government and the hierarchy of the party to improve information flow to the grassroots. He said failure to constantly update the youth on government policies was hurting the government's fortunes at the grassroots. Mr Bekli was addressing a constituency meeting of Branch Youth Organizers at Anloga, convened at his instance, to explain policies and programmes of the government.

He said the grassroots must have the information to counter distortions of important government policies by opponents. "Communication flow must be proactive, timely and constant to educate and mobilize the people" Mr Bekli said. He said the party and the government had excluded constituency executives particularly the Youth Organizers from the scheme of affairs. Mr Bekli appealed to the youth to exercise restraint and that the government was slowly addressing the concerns of all in the country. Mr Sylvester Tornyeava, the Keta Municipal Chief Executive, said the government was interested in laying permanent structures for youth development and would not cut corners for the sake of politics. He said the Ghc 50 million Akplorwotorkor-Anyanui sea defense project, which isabout to take off, would create many additional jobs for the youth. Mr Tornyeava listed a number of projects including the Agotoe-Tregui-Blemazado and Tegbi-Ashiata feeder roads as receiving attention. Mr Kofi Humado, the Member of Parliament for Anlo, also mentioned the Seshinu and Tegbi water projects and rural electrification projects as signs of government's concern for the people. 22 Oct 10
