NDC Women, Youth wings hold delegates conference

Ho, Sept. 21, GNA - Mr. Modestus Ahiable, Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was spending more time on managing strife within its ranks than on tackling pressing developmental issues facing the nation.

He was addressing a joint regional delegates conference of the Women's and Youth wings of the NDC in Ho. Mr Ahiable blamed the conflicts on the scramble for contracts among NPP activists, adding that, this should stop now, "for other regions are striding away from us."

He said the people of the region were getting increasingly despondent with the inability of the NPP to deliver on campaign promises.

Mr Ahiable said electricity distribution transformers deposited in some towns late last year, to create the impression that those communities were in the process of getting connected to the national grid, were still there, with no sign of work on the projects to see. He, therefore, called on the women and youth wings of the NDC to take up the mantle of making the populace aware of the failure of the NPP to deliver.
