NDC Regional Chairmen Remain Loyal To President

The 10 Regional Chairmen of the National Democratic Party (NDC), have pledged their unflinching loyalty to His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills.

The Chairmen, who called on the President at the Castle, Osu, said that they remain steadfast in their believe that they voted for the right person to lead the NDC into victory and are extremely confident that the President will deliver on his promises and build a Better Ghana.

Led by their Chairman, Mr. Julius Debrah, Eastern Regional Chairman, the group, while committing their support to the President, echoed the genuine concerns of some of the foot soldiers as regards the perceived slowness in the governance process.

Recognizing that there is a much healthier collaboration between the government and the party, the Chairmen expressed their profound appreciation to the President for continuously taking time off his heavy schedule to pay attention to party matters as well as run the party through the governance process.

On his part, the President thanked the Chairmen for having faith in the government.

According to the President, he is very much alive to the concerns of the Party and is not oblivious of the fact that he won political power on the wings of the Party and the foot soldiers.

On the issue of the perceived slowness of the government, the President did not hide the fact that he wished things could have moved faster but with an extremely challenged economy, as well as the need to govern according to the dictates of the constitution, the foot soldiers will have to bear with the government.

“The foot soldiers are the lifeline of the party and once we sort out the initial challenges confronting us, we will invest in our people, create jobs, build a strong economy, and give ourselves a Better Ghana” the President said.

Though two of the Chairmen, Danny Annang, Greater Accra, and Lawyer Agyemang, Brong Ahafo, were not present because they are out of town and indisposed respectively, their colleagues spoke on their behalf.
