More ?Wahala' On Hotel Kufuor

The NDC Minority caucus in Parliament says it will soon move a motion in Parliament for the setting up of a multi-partisan commission of enquiry to investigate circumstances surrounding the purchase of a hotel building near the residence of the President by Chief Kufuor, a son of the president.

According to the minority caucus, its intention to move the motion for an independent public enquiry into the matter has become necessary due to the apparent reluctance of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Ebenezer Sekyi-Hughes to allow the minority to make a statement on the matter on the floor of the House.

It pointed out that in the midst of claims and counter-claims over circumstances surrounding the purchase of the hotel building, Parliament will do the nation a great service by initiating the process for an independent public enquiry into the matter to bring it to an end. The minority said it has no desire to embarrass the president or any member of his family. Rather, it stated that the people of Ghana wish to know the truth as early as possible.
