Lawra-Nandom NDC elects Dr Kunbour by acclamation

Lawra, May 25, GNA - The Lawra-Nandom Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has re-elected Dr. Benjamin Kunbour, as its parliamentary candidate for the December election at its special delegates congress held at Lawra on Saturday. The 294 polling station chairmen declared Dr. Kunbour, the Member of Parliament for the constituency, unopposed and endorsed by popular acclamation.

Dr. Kunbour thanked the delegates and called on supporters of the NDC to work harder than before to maintain the seat for the NDC to enable him to lead his people to the promising land. He said the NDC was going to adopt a scientific approach in its electioneering campaign in the constituency.

He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was duplicating policies and programmes that the NDC administration had embarked on and that because those policies had not originated from them, they were finding it difficult to implement them appropriately. Mr. Caesar Kale, Upper West Regional Secretary of the NDC, said the NDC was more vibrant and alive than before and that the party would revise the National Youth Employment Programme and would make it more beneficial to its employees and the country. He said the recent tax relief on petroleum products and foodstuff were done as a matter of desperation and panic on the part of the NPP.
