Kintampo North NPP elects DCE to contest parliamentary seat

Kintampo (B/A) Aug. 24, GNA - Mr Awudulai Razak, Kintampo North District Chief Executive, has been elected to contest the constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) next year. At the NPP primaries conducted and supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission at Kintampo, Mr Razak, 29, polled 81 out of 124 valid votes cast to beat his only contender Mr. Michael Sarkodie, a Banker.

Mr Sarkodie conceded defeat and pledged his support for Mr Razak. Addressing the delegates shortly before the election, Mr. Lord Commey, National youth organizer of the NPP, commended the delegates for going about the vote peacefully. He advised them to remain united as one people belonging to the same 'family' to enable the Party to retain power in the 2008 general election.

Mr Commey appealed to membership of the Party to work extra hard and intensify their campaign to attract more people to their fold. Mr. Ampem Darko, NPP constituency chairman, advised members to eschew petty squabbles and forge ahead in unity for the growth of the Party.
