Jomoro NPP elects Parliamentary candidate

Ncelenu (W/R), July 14, GNA - Mr Peter Mac Manu, Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said the Party would engage in a peaceful campaign to win Election 2004 peacefully. He was speaking after the election of Mr Anthony Ransford Tandoh, a 52-year-old Senior Manager of the Jomoro Rural Bank, as the NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Jomoro seat at a constituency delegates' conference at Ncelenu, near Half Assini.

Mr Manu called on Party supporters to be disciplined and work hard so that the Party could regain power to enable it to continue with its good works.

He urged members of NPP to be committed to the ideals of the Party and respect its constitution and structures.

Mr Manu said the Party would not engage government officials for its electoral campaign but would rely on its polling agents to get to the people at the grassroots.

Mr Tandoh defeated Mr Joseph Whajah, a Teacher, by 88 against 73 votes in the election supervised by the Electoral Commission.
