I will use tourism to create jobs for the youth-Obetsebi Lamptey

Jasikan (V/R), July 20, GNA - Mr Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, aspiring to the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Election 2008, has promised to use tourism to create jobs for the youth, should he become President of the country in 2009. Mr Obetsibi-Lamptey, who was addressing the Buem Constituency Executives of the Party at Jasikan on his tour of the Volta Region, said the greatest challenge facing the country was the aspirations of the youth for decent and productive lives.

He promised to offer them these by reforming and restructuring the economy with his private sector experience.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said tourism creates jobs faster at all levels and that he would expand the industry to create more jobs given the country's tremendous competitive advantage in cultural heritage, historical heritage, eco-tourism and local cuisines among others. He said he was the right candidate to retain the NPP in power in the 2008 elections because he is marketable and knows how best to market himself and the party.

Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said when elected, he would make the NPP a viable Party to be able to take care of its many supporters.
