I will never stand on NDC, NPP ticket – Nduom

Founder of the Progressive People's Party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has vowed he will never consider putting himself out for election as a presidential candidate for any of the two main political parties in the country.

He explained that his resolve is borne out of the fact that the principles, behaviours and attitudes of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party are at variance with what he believes in.

When asked by TV3's Bridget Otoo Wednesday whether he has considered contesting on the ticket of the NDC or the NPP, he responded: "Tofiakwa!", adding "you see, traditions come with certain attitudes, certain behaviours and some of that in this one or that one [NDC or NPP] I don't like".

He added: "I don't hate anybody in the NPP or NDC. As a matter of fact I have friends here and there. Some of them are brothers of mine."

Although Dr. Nduom served in the ex- president Kufour government, he did not become a member of the NPP, saying "I served in Kufour's government. I didn't become part of NPP."

Meanwhile, he has promised President John Mahama a hug should he manage to pass a law banning importation of products some of which are produced in Ghana.

"For him to make a law, a rule that nobody should buy anything from outside of Ghana when we produce that thing in Ghana. Just that one law, let him do it and the day he does that, I will hold a press conference; I will go and huge him," he promised President Mahama.
