I am still in the race - Turkson

Agona Nsaba (C/R), Sept. 12, GNA - Mr Eric Kobina Duodu Turkson, parliamentary aspirant for Agona East Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that he is still in the race for the primaries.

"It was not true that I have stepped down as being rumoured by some people in the constituency," he said.

Mr Turkson made this known when he submitted his nomination forms and GH¢2,000 filling fees to the constituency executives of the party at Agona Nsaba.

Earlier, Mr Turkson handed over a fully furnished party office he had rented for the party at the cost of GH¢3,000 to the constituency executives.

Mr Tackie-Nkrumah, Vice Chairman of the Constituency who received the keys said the presentation of the office had come at a good time as the party was feverishly preparing for the parliamentary primaries.

He urged the delegates to vote for the aspirant who has the party and Agona Constituency at heart.

He said for the past eight years Agona East has lagged behind in terms of development and needed somebody who would lead the people to improve upon their living conditions.

He appealed to the aspirants to conduct a clean and decent campaign. Mr Kojo Anoakwa, Campaign Manager of Mr Turkson, asked the delegates to vote for a visionary aspirant and not allow monetary gains to influence them.
