Ho-East Constituency NPP to resist imposition

Ho June 10, GNA- The Executives of the Ho-East constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have given notice that it would resist any attempt at imposing a parliamentary candidate on the branch. It has, therefore, assured members of the party wishing to contest the constituency primaries that they would be given a fair opportunity to achieve their ambition.

A Press release jointly signed by Mr Gustav Geli, HO-East NPP chairman and Mr Michael Aglah, the Secretary, said alleged attempts to impose a candidate on the constituency was contrary to the party's guidelines and constitution on the selection of its parliamentary candidates.

It said "The Executives of the party in the Ho-East Constituency will soon come out with appropriate dates for fresh nominations."

Mr Johnson Avulete, Regional Organizer of the Party, told Ghana news Agency that information available to the Regional Executives indicated that no candidate had as yet filed nominations to contest the primaries. He said the Executives has nothing against the holding of constituency primaries there.
