Former PNDC District Secretary and ex-NDC functionary defects to NPP

Ho, July 17, GNA- Alhaji Bio, a former District Secretary of Krachi under the PNDC administration, and Mr Seth Filson Dadzie, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser for Ketu South Constituency, on Friday announced their defection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

At a press conference in Ho to make the declaration, Alhaji Bio said having been born into the United Party (UP) tradition, his action was just a home coming to get him connected to his roots. He bemoaned the situation whereby some people in the region were adamant to change from their political stands and asked them to appreciate political diversity.

Responding to a question from newsmen as to why he waited all that while to rejoin the NPP, Alhaji Bio said it was important that " when there is a change, one settles down and analyse issues before taking a decision."

Mr Seth Filson Dadzie, who also declared his defection at the press conference, said he had now seen the vision for a beautiful Ghana in the NPP hence his decision to join the party in building the nation. He, however, apologised to the NDC for any inconveniencies that his action might cause the party.

Mr Dadzie promised the NPP that he was prepared to work for the party by using what he termed ' political intelligence" to cause a stir in the constituency in the 2008 elections. Welcoming the defectors, Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, NPP Regional Chairman, said the party had recorded a steady progression of 100 per cent from the last elections.

He said: 'our style is just not to parade our sojourned friends who have returned home" and appreciated the courage of the defectors. Mr Nuworsu said there was more accommodation for all those were flocking to the party and those who were yet to join the party.
