Five Upper East PNC Constituencies support Ndebugre

Accra, May 6, GNA - The chairmen and secretaries of the People's National Convention in five constituencies in the Upper East Region have thrown their weight behind the suspended First National Vice Chairman, Mr John Ndebugre and asked the Council of Elders to intervene. "We the Executives and the entire membership of five constituencies of the People's National Convention hereby do resolve not to be part of the National Executive's action on the suspension of the First National Vice Chairman from office but have in no simple terms condemned this immature action," they said in a resolution faxed to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday.

The Constituency Chairmen and Secretaries of the Bawku Central, Binduri, Garu/Tempane, Pusiga and Zebilla signed the resolution. They said they saw the action as "highly unconstitutional and illegal" and asked that all actions of the National Executive in matters relating to the Party should strictly be in according with the Party's constitution.

"We therefore call on the Council of Elders as a matter of urgency to prevail on the National Executive to withdraw the so-called letter of suspension of the First National Vice Chairman for the good health of the Party," the resolution said.
