DFP’s Claims Rubbished

The NDC has rebuffed recent claims from the DFP that the NDC has extended an invitation to the party to attend the NDC’s upcoming congress. “It is not true that the NDC has invited the DFP or any of its members to the Congress.”

This was contained in a press release issued by the National executives of the NDC last week. The Deputy General Secretary of DFP, Bede Ziedeng last week claimed on a Tema based radio station that the NDC had extended an invitation to the DFP to attend the party’s special delegates congress on Thursday. In a press release, the National Executive Committee of the NDC stated: “We wish to state that we have not as of now sent any invitation to the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) to attend the congress.”

The release stated that the party is privy to information of a ploy by its opponents and detractions to use the media to divert the attention of the public from the main issues of the congress. The release further stated: “Our successes have agitated our opponents and detractors so much that they will employ all manner of diversionary tactics including insults, engaging us in unproductive argument in the media, infiltrating into our ranks all in a bid to derail the process.”

The party has accordingly directed all “spokespersons” of the party to desist from making any comments on issues that will divert the public attention on the main issues of the December congress.
