CPP flagbearer commends chiefs and people of Hohoe

Dr. Abu Sakara, the flagbearer of the Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP) has commended the feuding factions in the Hohoe communal violence for exercising maximum restraints, which prevented the escalation of the problem.

Dr. Sakara, who led a high powered party delegation of national and Volta Regional Executives to empathize with the Chiefs and people of the Gbi Traditional Area and their Zongo compatriots, pleaded for continuous tolerance and fortitude in their trying moment and prayed for God’s intervention.

Dr. Sakara said peace is a prerequisite for national development, assuring that the CPP is committed to peace, which is even more crucial in an electioneering year.

He said the year was a defining moment for the country and expressed hope that Ghanaians would tolerate diversity of thoughts and opinions to provide the platform for another peaceful electioneering era.

Spokes persons of the indigenes of Hohoe and Zongo Community assured them of maintaining the peace and prevailed on their youth to be civil.

The delegation presented some relief and food items, an undisclosed amount of cash and drinks.**
